PitchBook and Morningstar Announce Extensive Public Company Data Integration

The following public equity data sets are now available in the PitchBook Platform:

  • Morningstar’s Public Company Fundamentals: Detailed coverage of up to 900 new financial data points and 170 calculations for more than 44,000 publicly traded companies worldwide, gives PitchBook Platform users the ability to quickly access, analyze, and compare detailed public company financial information. As a result, 300 percent more data is available in PitchBook Desktop, in addition to PitchBook Mobile and the PitchBook Excel plugin, ensuring users have access across every preferred method for viewing and analyzing market insights.
  • Morningstar Equity Research Reports: In-depth analysis conducted by Morningstar equity analysts into the investment potential and competitive advantages of more than 1,500 public companies. These reports are differentiated by a focus on companies’ sustainable competitive advantages, or Economic Moats –the cornerstone of Morningstar’s equity research methodology – while also providing an independent and unbiased perspective.

Through Morningstar’s new and enhanced equity data capabilities, users can make better comparisons across industries, markets and accounting standards, with uniformly presented financial statement data and industry-oriented displays for banking, insurance and investment firms. In addition to this Morningstar integration, the PitchBook Platform offers consensus estimates for EPS, cash flow and revenue for public companies, allowing users to compare estimated growth rates across similar organizations or portfolios. Users can also access up to eight levels of data from financial statements with PitchBook’s financial tree structure to determine a company’s fiscal health.
